Some interesting history about chocolate and strawberries: The ancient Mayans and Aztecs considered chocolate an aphrodisiac. Strawberries have been considered an aphrodisiac since ancient Rome. But the history of these two delectable treats hardly matters. All you need to know is that the combination is sure to please your lover on Valentine’s Day. (the illustration below has no connection to the context).

Serious. Say, you decide to go for a dinner at a traditional Chinese, Thailand or any other Far East country’s restaurant (I am talking about traditional place, not the kind of popular bars you’d see in Canada, where the most exotic meal is chicken’s wings in hokey sauce). You got your meal served? Good. Now poke it, to make sure it’s dead.

It’s pretty common in the Far East to server food before it’s, so-to-speak “perfectly” dead. Much as I *love* the cuttlefishes, I still prefer them dead on my plate. Thankfully, due to the “ink” that has to be cleaned before serving or cooking, they cannot be served alive, so basically this is the only “live” food that is always safe to order.
Another “problem” with Far East Food is that you do not know what you are eating. The sea stars that often decorate our bathroom are served in China snacks on the street (normally on a stick, like a lollypop) and a mere knowledge that some Thailand’s eat dogs might keep many Europeans away from the traditional restaurants. Is it really that bad? NO, of course not. In fact, Far East food, especially Chinese, is delicious. Chicken roasted in orange juice and red paprika is an unforgettable experience. Sushi, “fortune cookies”, let alone rice is very safe to eat and of course, very tasty.

In my personal opinion, no food can even compare to the Italian food. Italy is a cradle of culinary; take for instance Pizza, Spaghetti, Lasagna, Pasta, Ravioli… Practically anything you would see in today’s bars and restaurant, Italians have in their menu. Unlike the French cosine, Italians chief knows that food is about satisfying the hunger, not about teasing you some more when you are already hungry like a bull.

Most dishes would include tomatoes, bread or its variation (such as spaghetti) , olives or cheese. I have spoken to a few of my friends who happened to travel much more than myself, and they all say that Italian kitchen is the ultimate food. While the Thai’s ‘Shaomai’ or Mexican ‘Yucatan’ would be a matter of taste, — a plate with hot pasta with freshly baked in mozzarella cheese tomatoes are pretty much able to feed anyone.
Italian people are a happy nation. Did you not notice? They have happy movies, they always dance, smile and celebrate… that’s only because they eat so well and drink in good measures. …and, satisfying the basic instincts is a must!
Visiting the Galilee Sea – Don’t Try To Walk On Water

Actually, much as Galilee Sea (Kineret, in Hebrew) is fascinating, it’s mostly beautiful to look at, but not really as fascinating when you decide to step in the water. Although the legendary crocodile has already been taken away from the water, there are still a lot of water spiders, and other unpleasant underwater habitants. Let’s not forget that Galilee Sea contains no salt and you can drink the water (theoretically you can, though if you get the chance I strongly recommend NOT to drink, the water is very dirty and can simulate a nice list of disease). So, you go to Galilee See, where to stay?

The most famous spot would probably be Tibberias, a very nice city with beautiful hotels and nice old looking streets, tho bear in mind that this is the unofficial drug dealing capital of the entire Middle East, although while visiting it for the first time you’d never tell. If you want a more quite place to stay at, I’d recommend Migdal — a small town near Tibberias, very cosy, with a lot of exotic flowers, and attractions for tourists — horses riding rodeo, saunas, pools, and cimers. You won’t find cheap accommodation here, but it’s only a few minutes from Galilee Sea and if you stay somewhere up on the mountain, you can enjoy from a stunning view of the entire sea under the moon.
If you stay in Migdal, you will see the sun raising from the corner of the sea, while staying in the other side of the lake would mean you can enjoy the sun setting on Galilee Sea’s horizon…

If you love far away from the sea and travel to a place where you know for sure you are going to find a lake, sea or ocean, be sure to collect some sea stones and to bring them home. Anyone know lives by the sea does not see much value in this rounded and smooth stones, while people who reside far away from any water source, actually buy them in special stores to decorate their bedroom’s table, bathroom or even the plants outside.
Naturally if you have a flight to take back home, staffing your suitcase with stones won’t be any wise, but grabbing a few stones you personally liked and picked while walking on the shore will make a great souvenir when you will be looking at it in a few years from now, remembering how and where you picked it up.
