Yorkshire is a historic county in the north of the uk & its the biggest county in the uk. in actual fact, the massive county covered around 6,000 sq. miles in 1831 & these days, it has got a population of about 5 million.

Yorkshire is widely known as the greenest place in the uk thanks to the friendly amount rural countryside in the Yorkshire Dales & the North Yorkshire Moors. These gorgeous places have led to Yorkshire being given the nickname God’s Own County.

Yorkshire is a extremely historical county, especially in york, it’s county town. Indeed, York is a beautiful roman city, but its also has some wonderful viking historical, which can still be seen in the city today. During the first millennium, the rest of the county of Yorkshire was also occupied by vikings & romans.

Later on, Yorkshire became renowned for its traditional coal, wool, steel & shipping industries, especially throughout the industrial revolution. There’s lots of stuff to do in Yorkshire, including a handful of great museums & art galleries. One of the finest art galleries is the ruskin gallery in sheffield, which houses a great collection of drawings, medieval manuscripts & books that belonged to john ruskin.

Whether you’d rather have enormous brand stores or kooky independent shops, Yorkshire boasts a handful of great shops.  If you like designer brands, you should head to leeds. often named the ‘knightsbridge of the north’, it boasts a harvey nicholls, as well as branches of louis vuitton and other designer stores. However, Leeds also offers a number of high-street stores, including new look and Top Shop, which means that it suits any budget.

Yorkshire is such a big location that it boasts everything you need for any kind of night out. The smaller towns have some fabulous inns, although party animals should visit the cities including Leeds, York and Sheffield for excellent clubs and vip bars.

Sheffield and leeds have some fabulous night clubs, so you will be able to spend a fabulous night there. in addition to this, these cities also have a handful of fabulous live music venues, so you can go to see a touring act or even a local band.

Let me start by saying: This post is written by European, so my perspective, as a tourist, might not be very objective. I visited USA only once, so any comments are welcome!
So, we all know that holiday accommodation in New York is always very hard to find, and to find something at a reasonable price is even harder. Manhattan is the most popular region for tourists, with Times Square been the heart of the district.

The city has four distinct seasons, ranging from freezing cold winters to quite hot summers. Spring and Autumn are often regarded as the best time to visit as it is not too cold or too hot.

A lot of Europeans come across during the cold winter months to shop and are amazed at the beautiful blue sky but surprised at how cold it is. If they are lucky and there is a snow fall, they will flock to Central Park and join the locals sledding and some even ski on Pilgrim Hill. Most tourists try to avoid New York in the summer when temperatures are often unbearable, however the temperature at easter is often perfect.

Tourists like to visit Fifth Avenue where there are several parades held there each year and also free concerts. St Patrick’s Day Parade consists of tens of thousands of locals covering the entire area in a sea of green costumes and floats on March 17th each year. The parade starts at Fifth Avenue and 44th Street at 11am each year.

During May they celebrate Martin Luther King; in fact most New Yorkers like to celebrate with parades most months and many of these parades start on Fifth Avenue.

The city offers a wide range of accommodation catering for most price ranges. A new popular form of accommodation is the renting of holiday apartments and homes in the heart of the city. Holiday accommodation here is often very hard to get hold of.

New York is also famous for the large number of restaurants that it has. It is said that there are over 17,000 and just about every imaginable taste is catered for. New Yorkers are hard people to please when it comes to their food and as a result restaurants offer excellent service and quality of food to please them. New Yorkers also like good value for money and in order for restaurants to survive, they have had to offer extremely good value for money.

The city also has a great selection of antique shops and art galleries. It is regarded as the entertainment capital of the world with ballet, dance, concerts, opera and theater. Most tourists come back to New York year after year as the City has so much for them to see and do.

There are also plenty of coffee houses, grills, steak houses and Chinese restaurants offering a very good choice of cheap food with quick friendly service. For people in a rush, New York offers some of the best fast food outlets in the world. It does not matter if it is day or night, you can always get something to eat twenty four hours a day in New York.

Most coffee houses are also open twenty four hours a day in New York and many serve hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. There is something special about having a strong black coffee in New York sitting in a Coffee House watching the rest of the City go about their work as you relax taking in the atmosphere.

As well as having some fabulous shops on Fifth Avenue (Most of the famous department stores are based here), New York is also home to Trump Tower. It is worth a visit to Trump Tower just to experience the sheer elegance and opulence of the boutiques.

New York truly is the city that never sleeps, but if you’re there on vacation you most certainly will want a good nights sleep. Holiday homes and holiday villas are both available for rent in and around the city, but your best bet for quality holiday accommodation is a hotel.

Manchester is fast becoming the capital of Britain. Its city center is on the same scale as London and it has a plethora of gorgeous shops including designer boutiques and bespoke little shops tucked away in nooks and crannies that hold promises of previously undiscovered gems of the type of creativity and artistic skills that Mancunians are so rightly proud of.

All this shopping is bound to make you hungry and Manchester is second to none when it comes to its choice of eateries. Any culinary dish your palette desires can be found somewhere in this great city and the atmosphere is beyond compare with the people of Manchester being open and welcome to all visitors and newcomers.

However, Manchester is about so much more than simply the city center. Martial arts, hockey or gymnastics are balanced out by the more refined past times of lacrosse, hot air ballooning or sailing. You can even go skiing on the indoor ski slope if the mood takes you or you need to brush up on your skills ready for your winter holiday.

If you want to test your own skills, there are fields and tracks where you can push yourself to the limit and follow in the footsteps of Olympic sportsmen and women who have trodden this ground themselves. A little light ten pin bowling makes a great evening out for a couple of even the whole family but if it’s a lads trip you could always go to the wrestling.

There are a great amount of attractive statues in Havana. Some of them are emblematic and classic such as the Christ at the entrance of Havana’s bay or the statue of José Martí at the Revolution Square. It can be very interesting to walk through the capital looking for vivid monuments of famous people of the past.

Some examples of them are everywhere, coming from different places and times. For example, let us mention a few but representative number of them. Very closed to the Havanan Malecón (wall) it can be seen a statue of José Martí, Cuban National Hero, wearing his classical frock coat and holding his son in his arms.

In the Avenida del Puerto (harbor avenue) near the trade zone of the bay, closed to the Paula Church, there stands very elegantly Agustín Lara, the renown Mexican composer.

This statue was donated to Cuba by the people and the government of Veracruz in November of 2000 and makes us remember his romantic songs. The visitor may also see statues of gods such as a marble Neptune that points out with his trident the way to Havana at the entrance of the bay.

However, less known people’s statues can also be found. That is the case of the one erected to Pierre Le Moyne O´Iberville, famous military man of New France, actually Canada, who was Fleet Admiral of King Louis XIV and died in Havana in 1706.

This statue was donated by Québec authorities and was placed by the Office of Havana Historian’s workers in November 14th, 1999. More unknown is, perhaps, the Japanese Hasehura Rokuemon Tsunenaga, hero of Sendai province in Japan, and whose monument perpetuates him as the first Japanese person who came into Cuba in 1614 in a park of this capital. Having a Japanese-Spanish explanation, and wearing a kimono, this man seems to suggest the 11 850 kilometers that separates both cities.

Another remarkable statue is the one erected to Francisco de Albear y Lara at the park with the same name immediately after his death in October 24th, 1887. This place is located in the surrounding areas of the famous restaurant El Floridita. Don Francisco was the designer of the Havana’s aqueduct, master piece that is still functioning.

The fountain of this sculpture complex perpetuates the never-ending efforts of this man for providing Havana with a water system.

During the last years, sculptor Jorge Villa has been a protagonist within the city. Some of his sculptures have been raised in different places of this city: John Lennon quietly sitting in a bench at a park of 16 St., in Vedado; Ernest Hemingway leaning on the bar of El Floridita; devout Teresa of Calcutta seating at a bench of the San Francisco de Asis´ basilica; or the “Caballero de Paris” walking as a perennial passer-by of Old Havana.

Meanwhile, some other immobile and nameless figures of beautiful undressed women keep their non-stop observation of Havana’s days, always animated by the flow and noise of either nationals or foreigners.

Statues are a real Cuban feast that pays homage to those famous persons who were fond of Havana.

The oldest city of Ireland, Waterford, has change for good as it maintained the small-town Irish feeling in every traveler. Waterford overwhelm tourist of its relaxing vibe compared to other bigger busy cities of Ireland but the old city have a lot of pubs too.

Located in the River Suir or south east of Ireland, Waterford was formerly known before as “the most important European ports”.

With known medieval history, the city became mature on its own and retained its scenic value to the tourist who continued to travel and explore the treasure hidden in the old city.

In Waterford and other parts of Ireland, their season is mostly rainy and windy. However, do not think that it wouldn’t be a good place to discover because despite it’s whether, the scenery remained on its top shape. Remember to bring your umbrella with you because it will be a wet adventure for you.

Actually, Waterford can be reached from any point in Ireland. The old city is residing 65km west of Wexboard or 126km east of Cork. However, the easiest would be to travel by air which most tourist do. The airport in Waterford is 6km south of the old city. The airport can be reached by specific areas in United kingdom, Europe when its summer, and other international airports in Ireland.

When you cannot book any flight straight to Waterford airport, you can use Dublin and Cork’s airports.

Unlike other county and cities, you can use a boat to get in Waterford. The nearest stations of boats for Waterford are Rosslare then ride a bus to head straight to the old city.

Playa del Carmen is a peaceful city found right on the edge of the Caribbean Sea. There are several hotels there that are meant to help the guests enjoy their time in the sand and the surf.

On the border of the Caribbean Sea is a city called Playa del Carmen. Found at the north east side of Mexico, part of the state of Quintana Roo, the city is a haven of clean water, fine sand and picturesque shores. It has become known as a small and quaint city where travelers can frolic in the sea. Because of this, there are a number of hotels in the city for travelers who want to remain close to the sea.

Usually when families take vacations to the Northeast, they will take in all the beautiful countryside and as many historical sites as they can. These are two of things that attract visitors the most to this area.

This is the region where our country was first settled and Philadelphia was a large part of that settlement. There are the usual attractions like The Liberty Bell, the home of Betsy Ross, and Independence Hall, but there are many more interesting places to see in and around Philadelphia that many will miss.

The Philadelphia zoo is a great place to spend a day with the kids if you have them. There are zoos all over the country, but each one is uniquely different so why miss this one? The Philadelphia Zoo was established in the 1800’s. It is the first like it in the country. They have rare animals such as white lions and pandas.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is the oldest structure on the Parkway and it was built in the mid 1800’s. It has beautiful architecture and is done in the Italian style.
